Michael D. ​Huddleston

MS, LPC-S

Michael is a proud graduate of Texas A&M ​University Corpus Christi, having obtained ​his Master's degree in Counseling in May ​2010. As a Professional Counselor in the ​state of Texas under License #67076, he ​has dedicated himself to serving ​individuals in need of guidance and ​support.


In addition to his professional endeavors, ​he is an active member of Heritage ​Baptist Church, and his community.


As a parent to a grown daughter and a ​proud grandparent to five grandchildren, ​Michael recognizes the importance of ​empathy, patience, and understanding in ​both personal and professional ​relationships. It is his firm belief that ​everyone deserves to be heard and ​supported on their journey towards ​personal growth and fulfillment.

Connie is a dedicated professional with a ​strong commitment to helping individuals ​overcome addiction and achieve lasting ​recovery. As a proud graduate of Texas A&M ​University Corpus Christi, she obtained her ​Master's degree in Counseling in January ​2012 and has since become a Licensed ​Chemical Dependency Counselor in the ​state of Texas under License #11615.


In addition to her professional endeavors, ​Connie is deeply dedicated to her family ​and cherishes the importance of strong ​familial bonds. She recognizes the role of ​empathy, patience, and understanding not ​only in her professional relationships but ​also in her personal life.


Connie firmly believes that everyone ​deserves the opportunity to heal and ​transform their lives for the better. Her ​dedication to her clients and her ​unwavering commitment to their well-​being are at the core of her practice.

Kaitlyn McDowell is a dedicated professional ​with a certification as a Medical Assistant ​obtained in 2022, augmenting her skills in ​patient care and support. With a strong ​foundation in customer service and office ​management, she brings enthusiasm and a ​passion for creating memorable customer ​experiences.


Prior to her role at Huddleston Counseling ​Services, Kaitlyn served as a Preschool ​Teacher, where she cultivated a safe and ​orderly learning environment while ​encouraging critical thinking skills among ​her students.


As an Office Manager at Huddleston ​Counseling Services, Kaitlyn spearheaded ​office operations, ensuring seamless ​workflow and efficiency. Her multitasking ​abilities were demonstrated through ​adeptly handling administrative tasks such ​as scheduling appointments and managing ​correspondence. She also played a pivotal ​role in enhancing the company's brand ​visibility through digital marketing ​strategies and the development of ​marketing materials.

Started on May 1st, 2012, Huddleston ​Counseling Services has been serving the ​Coastal Bend area for over a decade! We ​offer individual, couples, and family ​psychotherapy counseling for children, ​adolescents and adults. We also have a ​licensed chemical dependency counselor ​who sees adults on a individual, couples ​and family basis. Doctor referrals are ​welcome but not required.

This Notice of ​Privacy Practices outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information. By booking ​an appointment, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

Patient Rights

As a patient of Huddleston Counseling Services, you have the following rights regarding your ​protected health information (PHI):

  1. Right to Access: You have the right to inspect and obtain a copy of your PHI.
  2. Right to Amend: You may request an amendment to your PHI if you believe it is inaccurate or ​incomplete.
  3. Right to Restrict Use and Disclosure: You have the right to request restrictions on how your PHI ​is used and disclosed for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations.
  4. Right to Accounting of Disclosures: You may request an accounting of certain disclosures of ​your PHI.
  5. Right to Request Confidential Communication: You have the right to request confidential ​communication of your PHI.
  6. Right to File a Complaint: You have the right to file a complaint if you believe your privacy rights ​have been violated.

Our Duties

As a patient of Huddleston Counseling Services, you have the following rights regarding your ​protected health information (PHI):

  1. Protect Your PHI: We are required to maintain the privacy of your PHI and provide you with ​notice of our legal duties and privacy practices.
  2. Notify You of Breaches: We will notify you if there is a breach of your unsecured PHI.
  3. Abide by the Terms of This Notice: We will abide by the terms of this notice currently in effect.

Uses and Disclosures

Your PHI may be used and disclosed for the following purposes without your authorization:

  1. Treatment: We may use and disclose your PHI to provide, coordinate, or manage your ​healthcare and any related services.
  2. Payment: We may use and disclose your PHI to obtain payment for the healthcare services ​provided to you.
  3. Healthcare Operations: We may use and disclose your PHI for activities related to the operation ​of our practice.
  4. Mandated Reporting: We are required by law to disclose PHI for mandated reporting such as ​child abuse, neglect, or domestic violence.

Types of Uses and Disclosures Requiring Authorization

Other uses and disclosures of your PHI not described in this notice will be made only with your ​written authorization. You have the right to revoke your authorization at any time, except to the ​extent that action has already been taken.

Office Policies

Welcome to Huddleston Counseling Services. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ​ensuring a secure experience when you visit our website or utilize our services. This form of Office ​Policies outlines how we handle no shows, late cancellations, referrals, and court/witness a​ppointments. By booking an appointment, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

Introduction

At Huddleston Counseling Services, we strive to provide comprehensive and compassionate ​mental health care to our clients. Our policies are designed to ensure smooth operation and fair ​treatment for all individuals involved in our services. Please take a moment to review the following ​policies regarding appointment scheduling and confidentiality.

Appointment Policies

  1. No Show without Prior Notification for Existing Patients: A fee of $25 will be charged for ​appointments missed without prior notification.
  2. No Show without Prior Notification for New Patients: In the event of non-compliance with ​scheduled appointments, the client will not be able to be seen by Huddleston Counseling ​Services.
  3. No Show without Prior Notification for New Patients with Doctor’s Referral: In the event of ​non-compliance with scheduled appointments, the respective doctor will be notified ​accordingly and the client will not be able to be seen by Huddleston Counseling Services
  4. Late Cancel Fee: A fee of $25 will be charged for appointments canceled with insufficient ​notice (less than 24 hours).
  5. Court/Witness Appointments: Court or witness appointments require payment of $120 per ​hour for a minimum of 6 hours, paid upfront.

Referral Policies

If you have been referred by a healthcare provider, we will endeavor to establish contact with you ​within the first 48 business hours of receiving the referral. In the event we are unable to reach you ​after three attempts (two phone calls and one text message), we will inform your referring ​healthcare provider.


Following our initial attempts to contact you, we will maintain your referral for a period of 30 days. ​During this time, while we will not initiate further contact, you, as the patient, are encouraged to ​reach out to us to schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience.

Patient Dismissal Policy

At Huddleston Counseling Services, we are committed to providing our patients with the highest ​quality of care. However, in some instances, we may determine that it is not in the best interest of ​the patient or the therapist to continue therapy sessions. In such cases, we reserve the right to ​refuse or discontinue services.

Patients have the right to receive written notice of dismissal from care, even in the event of a no ​show without prior notification

We may refuse to provide services for the following reasons:

  1. Failure to Attend Initial Appointment: If a patient fails to attend their initial appointment ​without prior notification, regardless of whether they were referred by a doctor or not, we ​reserve the right to refuse to continue services.
  2. Continuous Missed Appointments: If a patient continuously misses appointments, with or ​without proper notice, we may refuse to continue services.
  3. Scope of Practice: Our therapists have an ethical obligation to work only with patients whom ​they can reasonably help. If, after an initial assessment, it is determined that we are not able to ​meet your therapeutic needs, we may suggest alternative resources or referrals.
  4. Lack of Expertise: If we determine that your therapeutic needs require expertise in an area ​outside of our specialization, we may suggest alternative resources or referrals.
  5. Insurance Coverage: Our ability to provide services may be limited by the insurance plans we ​accept. If we are unable to accept your insurance, we will inform you of alternative payment ​options or provide you with referrals to other providers who may accept your insurance.
  6. Conflicts of Interest: If there is a conflict of interest that could compromise the therapeutic ​relationship, we may refuse to provide services.
  7. Safety Concerns: If the therapist believes that continuing therapy sessions could pose a safety ​risk to either the patient or the therapist, we may refuse to provide services.
